Contemplating sex and gender . . .
What is the role of sex in the Christian life? What about same-sex relationships? Or gender identity? How do we interpret Scripture for ethics when it comes to our most important relationships, and how we understand ourselves?
Biblical scholar and spiritual care provider, Karen R. Keen dives into sex and gender to help us explore these questions within our faith communities. She writes from both personal experience and in-depth research.
Karen has taught in both academic and church settings. She holds graduate degrees in biblical and theological studies and is the author of several books, including Scripture, Ethics, and the Possibility of Same-Sex Relationship (Eerdmans, 2018), The Word of a Humble God: The Origins Inspiration, and Interpretation of Scripture (Eerdmans, 2022), and she is co-editor of Christlike Acceptance Across Deep Difference: Constructive Conversations on Sexuality and Gender (Baker Academic, 2025).
